Restrict all document properties and setting for default users and give all privileges to admin

Guys!

I have a dashboard on desktop version which i update it monthly. since i send this dashboard to many users in company, and they mistakenly change properties and move chart and fields. it cause a lot headache for me to resolve their issues.

There should be a way to lock all settings and properties in dashboard and just give users a view permission. (as well as Send Values to Excel)

How can i do that? I have heard about section access, but i don't want to restrict some part of dashboard for some people. i just want to lock setting and properties.

many thanks for your help in advance

Hi,

The easiest way just Uncheck "Allow Move/Size" property (Layout Tab) for all objects in document.

It doesn't help you in all your issues, but reduce their qty to minimum.

Or just add SA for all with USER access type except yourself.

Hope this helps.

Hi ,

In Qlikview dashboard Right click --> Properties --> Security --> Uncheck everything and apply to all sheets.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Vignesh

You might want to fiddle with Sheet Properties>>User Privileges.

You can set users to have access to move/size objects, object properties, etc...

All very valid suggestions.

If you don't want to bully yourself too much as the document's developer (all settings also apply to you, or you have to do the clearing of properties every time you distribute a document), you can also just disable Settings->Documents Properties->Security->Save Document (Users).

When they mess up their copy, let them just close and reopen the document. Everything's back to normal.

In that case you have to check in the required user previleges and uncheck it after modifying..

So you mean if i disable sheet properties, i wont have access to properties either?

I might need to change something on their dashboards. so i have to have a admin user and password for myself.
