Running total irrespective of sorting

Hi,

have a data as below, i need a running total based on the rank of count(ID). the running total should not change irrespective of the sorting on TYPE.

TYPE	Count(ID)
C	176
D	494
L	107
M	205
P	54
S	276
SI	635
UI	233

Do you know how to use Alternate State ? It seems to me that this functionality can help you to build what you need.
