Hello
I am unable to get a trigger to work within my qlikview document. The trigger is to be set for the 'on open' action, however it does not work. I have macros enabled under the security settings too but the feature still doesn't work. Any ideas?
I've attached a screen shot of the settings for the trigger.
Remove the leading equal sign from the field entry box, just input the field name.
That doesn't work, I tried that previously and reloaded the app. Still doesn't work
Ok, still use the field name without leading equal sign.
Are you using the OnOpen trigger when opening the QVW in the desktop client? Or in another client?
Could you post a small sample QVW? Maybe it's an issue with the format of your field. What does =max(KPI_Year) return in a text box?
for checking purpose,
Create a Button, Set the Select In Field
Field : KPI_Year (don't put equal to sign) - Suggested by swehul
Search String : =Max(KPI_Year)
check, the KPI_Year selected or not.
As suggested by Swuehl. It should work. Remove '=' sign. Reload application. Save application. Open application. Trigger should work.
This still isn't working. I am using the OnOpen trigger when opening the QVW in teh desktop client. When I put the field in a text box it does work and shows the max year. I'm not sure what else to do
How many triggers you have on OnOpen application? When you open application , is there any sheet level triggers that may override the OnOpen trigger
There aren't any sheet level triggers and this is the only document level trigger
Might sound funny but give a try..
1. Remove trigger
2. Save and close the app
3. Open the app and create new trigger
4. Save and close
5. Try your luck..
Hope you are not using '=' sign before field name and data is available in your application.
I did something like in past I guess..
