I would recommend the QlikView 11 for Developers book as a reference guide also reading through and searching these discussion boards is a great way to learn.

Designer/Developer:-

          First you need to concentrate Architecture of QV(QV Desktop/Sever/Publisher),topics(Different load types,ODBC,OLEDB connections,Data from Data base ) objects in QV(List box,charts,...etc)

then u can come to Script level

Different functions used in QV script like aggr functions,Date functions...etc

After that u need to learn security(section access,optimizing qvw file...etc)
