how to do:

from ert234.55, 342er.345 or TRW345.12345 get string before .

so i want ert234, 342er , TRW345 and so on.

In a load statement in a load script:

LOAD

      SubField( aField , '.' , 1 ) AS BeforeDot

      .....

FROM

     .....;

In the application:

=SubField( aField, '.' , 1 )      in an expression in a chart

Or if you have the strings in variables:

=SubField( aVar , '.', 1 )
