Re: Data Reduction

This sounds more like you are looking for SSO with the portal i.e. you log into the portal and that user is then used in your app to do reduction on the data.

An approach to this is to do web ticket integration with the portal so that when you login to the portal you also login to QV and then use section access to reduce the data that user can view.

This would give you the functionality that the QV data that you embed in the portal will be reduced for the user accessing the portal.

Doing this type of integration will need custom code written for the portal you are using to cater for the login into the QV environment.

Re: Data Reduction

yes Fredrik Lautrup my problem is almost same.
but i dont want section access to ask  username and password again........
or i can say document should reduce data directly using portal login , without prompting for username and\or password again........

Thanks in advance

Re: Data Reduction

Section access doesn't always ask for a user name password. if you use a NTNAME in place of a USER, it won't ask you for a username/password.

Re: Data Reduction

If the QV users are on your network then you can enable section access to use NTNAME.

If a matching login name is found, then section access is applied without prompting for a username. If no match is found then the username prompt appears.

Re: Data Reduction

I have tried it out but in particular scenarios i found myself in a problem using NT name
( my doc is domain independent )
In the beginning only  i have mentioned ,is any solution is there  without taking section access or publisher ........

Thanks in advance,

Re: Data Reduction

Hi Fredrik,

Would you kindly elaborate on the script needed in the portal in order to support the login to QV?

Thanks!
