How I can hide 'Display tables' with Section Access?

Hi everyone,

I've made a QlikView application and I use 'Section Access' to make two users ('Admin' and 'User') to restrict permissions to 'User'. The problem is that when 'User' enter to my application, he/she can see the 'Display tables' icon and can see tables and option of 'Preview data'.

I've tried everything (uncheck all option about security in 'Document properties' and 'Sheet properties') but I can't hide this option with 'User'.

Can anybody help me? Is there any way to hide this option?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Daniel

Afaik there is no way to disable the table viewer in Qlikview Desktop. If you don't want a user to have access to it then don't give him access to Qlikview Desktop. Allow only access to the document with the ajax client on the access point.

Hi,

Try alternate Instead of giving object level session acess,

Create One more sheet with same Objects rediesign it as One for User and One for Admin

and give sheet level access.

Your response is helpful but is not what I want. My objective is that final user can't see my data model that I've made because it is a prototype with my own ideas from his data source... so the application has to be the same that I created... not one sheet for me and another for the user.

Thanks max dreamer!

Hi,

In this case why dont you write your complete data model script as Hidden Script.

So that user will not see anything.

Yes, you've the reason, and I've written a Hidden Script. But also, when 'User' enter to my application, if press 'CONTROL+T' he can see the model data and 'Preview', so he can think an idea of how I've implemented the application... (ex. If I have one table or two, the name of fields, preview of data, etc.)

So, my question is: is there any way to hide this button and 'CONTROL+T' shortcut?

Thanks in advance, max dreamer.

Daniel

I read the question and answer that you had posted here, and I see that probably there isn't a way at the moment to hide 'Table Viewer' in Desktop Client of QlikView (ex. Is there any trick to hide document "Table Viewer" or option to disbale "Ctl+R" ???)

For me this is a security issue

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Daniel

Thanks Gysbert.

So, I think the best solution for me is to don't give access QlikView Desktop if I don't want a user to have access to 'Table Viewer'.

Thanks!

Daniel
