Section Access - Failed to open document

Hello,

I have a document with a section access to manage data reduction.

This document is reloaded every day.

Sometimes, the users get the following message when they try to open it :

"Failed to open document, You don't have access to this document"

Even if i reload the document from the console, i still have the message.

The only way if found to solve this is to stop and restart the QVS service.

It meens to cut the service for all the users connected and i don't want to have to do that.

Have you ever encountered this problem?

Hi,

Make sure you have provided section access ADMIN credentials in QEMC.

Look at the attached image.

Thank's for your answer.

I must be more precise :

I use an excel file to set the 'section access' to preselect datas by user.

It works fine 99% of the time but sometime, we get this message "You don't have access to this document".

If i open it with the Qlikview exe, it works fine also, the data reduction is ok.

But when i access the same app by the web, i get the error message.

My only solution for now is to restart the qlikview server service.

Hi,

I would even try by adding admin user credential from section access on server in the image attached.

Are you using anonymous anonymous?  Are using Initial Data Reduction based on Section Access?

Make sure the Section Access table contains the end-users/service account name and permissions, in order to get access to the file. Failure to do so can result in one locking themselves out from the file in a no-reverse scenario.

Hi Michel,

It always help if you will give the version number you are running.

The service account that the services are running under is listed as administrator in section access. Now, with that said, being it works some of the time and a server restart fixes the issue, I would think maybe an issue with the release you are on.
