Section access with NTFS

Hello everyone,

In a document, I did a section access with only

ACCESS and NTNAME.  (so no USERID or Password)

It works fine on Qlikview Desktop, I can access the document when my NTNAME is in the inline and I cannot when my ntname is not.

My question is now :

How do I do with Qlikview server ?

I have tried to reload it but of course, it fails and I get the error "could not open the document".

Thank you for your help

Dear Laura,

What you need to do is add the service account  to the section access as a Admin, when you execute a task with publisher or reload engine, this is running under the service account that Distribution services is logged on.

This should be the same, are you and the server both in the same AD domain ?

Thanks Paul,

Yes, we are in the same domain.

What do you mean it should be the same ?  When the tasks are run on server from QMC, it's not my account which is used. Because the reload tasks works even if I am not logged.

In the "Reload" tab of the document (where you set up when the document will reload automatically), you must set the user who will reload the document, in the bottom of the page.

So, the user should be in the Section Access list.

Another way is simply add the QVServer user (the user that opens the services) to the list.

I dont have any USERID or Password in the section access so I didn't tick the section access checkbox.

I added the QVServer user to the list but it stills doesn't work, I don't get why

Is there some parameters I need to change ?

Thank you for your help

What I ment by "should be the same" is that if you're in the same AD domain you're credentials are the same for your local desktop and within the AccessPoint.

You should add the service account to the Section access like Giuseppe Novello mentioned

Hey everyone,

I tried what you told me in a new document and it works well

The thing is when I change my section access in my application, QV doesn't take it into account. I have tried to remove all the section access and save my doc. And when I reload it from server, still get the error "could not open".

What can I do ?

I have tried to copy the app on another name but still get the error

Laura,

If you are using Server or Publisher, remember to add the NTNAME of the service account running the QlikView services, otherwise it won't be able to reload properly the document.
