Security within Qlikview Management Console (QMC)

Hello,

I have a question regarding the security possibilities within the Qlikview Management Console (QMC).

Currently we have a QV environment where we have reports for different applications and disciplines. There are also multiple application owners involved all responsible for their own reports.

Are there possibilities to setup security within the QMC? I am thinking of the following:

- users have only access to their documents (reloads, license assignment, etc.) within the QMC.

- users have access to their task statuses (reload engine) within the QMC.

- users do or don't have access to the system settings within the QMC.

In general we get access to all the dashboard in QMC.

    If what you have in mind is that your users manage their own authorization to published apps, using QlikView Administrators (adding users to the QlikView Administrators group on the machine) and Document Administrators (managed from QMC) I believe you'll be able to achieve what you're looking for.

Sorry for the double post.

For what I see, the pdf only describes the Document Administrator role for the Source Document folder. The process to access the User Documents folder is exactly the same only in the QlikView Server service.

But above that, do you have a Publisher license?

All this security features are disabled without a Publisher license.

Thanks for your reply. We do not have a Qlikview Publisher, so I guess we do not have any possibilities regarding security within the QMC.

The document administrator role seems to be exactly what I am looking for.

Glad it helps, Lars.

   Sadly, without a Publisher license the only management control would be adding users to the QlikView Administrators group of the QlikView Management Service machine, but every user would have access to every resource available on the QMC.
