Hi,
I have a qlikview application designed for web, I need this to be usable for mobile devices as well.
I know that a qlikview app has been provided for ios and how to configure the access point, I am able to see my application successfully on ipad.
What I need to know is how to use the same design of objects within a single application on both devices.
I want to know if there's a way to know the device from which we are accessing qlikview and accordingly make my application fit into the device.
Thanks
Jyotsna
Hi,
I cant access the document at http://community.qlik.com/docs/doc-3642
On the other hand, from the forum http://community.qlik.com/message/245239 it seems this extension works well for web browsers but not for ipad.
Thanks,
Jyotsna
Hi Jyotsna,
hopefully this is going to be much easier in QlikView Next:
"• Optimization for the device. The QlikView.Next client will adjust automatically
to take advantage of the capabilities of the user’s device. We are focused on new
interaction paradigms that work across devices ranging from desktops to touch-based
interfaces."

Hi, Jyotsna.
What I have done in the past when the app is used both on the web an mobile is had two different tabs depending on the device.
If you do make the tabs show only when right(ClientPlatform( ),6)='mobile' the sheet/object will only show if the device being used is a mobile device (e.g. tablet, iPad).

Neil
Hi Marco,
Thanks for your reply.
This seems very interesting. But is Qlikview.Next client released, if so how can I download and install it. I may need some document which shows the installation procedure and user guide on how to use it.
Can you please provide me the details.
Thanks,
Jyotsna
Hi Jyotsna,
no, QlikView Next is not yet released and as for the release date, I guess only QlikTech can tell.

Marco
