Delivering analytic reports to the inbox! ... H1 reporting roadmap recap and more... [Updated Oct 15, 2025]

Thrilled to share that HTML report template authoring on Qlik Cloud Analytics is now available!  Deliver analytics via email body to your recipients inbox. Head over to our Designing HTML report templates for all the 411!

This isn’t the only thing we delivered in the first half of the year though…

Your Qlik Community feedback identified some report development optimizations that could smooth out the in-app PixelPerfect report authoring. All just released…checkout What's New and filter on Reporting:

  • PixelPerfect Image zoom management (also integrated in the HTML editor)
  • PixelPerfect autosave (also integrated in the HTML editor)
  • Better handling of changes in data bindings

Not to be forgotten from earlier in the year:

  • New Straight Table – download with totals, selections, title
  • Expanded guardrail for the number of report tasks per user
  • Data Alerts only when data changes (see related post here)

So what is going in in H2 2025 for the reporting roadmap?

Customer feedback drives our direction - at Qlik Connect 2025 we spoke with many customers and partners from across all market segments and validated our reporting roadmap target areas!

In development now

Development will continue on some key operational controls:

  • The multi-template task execution is in development – watch late Q3 for this to surface. [Released September 23]
  • Tenant Admins will have more control over who can manage reporting tasks and execute on-demand reports with introduction of a report scope to be used in role definitions. [Released phased roll-out globally in October]

Under Consideration

While we can’t fit all our ambitions into the rest of the year, we are currently evaluating two key themes to determine additional capability updates to realize in 2025.

Theme 1: expansion of the operational controls for report task management – priority topics from the field are:

  • Configure sender name for emails (e.g. so the email isn’t “Qlik”) [Released October 14]
  • Bulk Filter import
  • Object level filters
  • Filename control

We are also want to acknowledge interests around conditional report execution (see what your options are today!) and enhancement of management console, report task visibility.

Theme 2: Analytics & AI within common productivity tools with two key persona’s in mind:

  1. The report developer who would like to produce analytic reports that can be edited after the fact in PowerPoint and Word.
  2. The analytics consumer who wants to compose a story driven from analytics and AI prompts, amend, and collaborate around these findings in productivity tooling.

Stay tuned to Qlik Community for updates on what you might see being released from this list in 2025.  We are as excited as you are! If you want to contribute more – add your voice to Qlik Ideation!

Hi @Andrew_Kruger

Was looking forward to this one. I was hoping for EAP to give some feedback there but there wasn't one so I guess now is a time for feedback and the one important thing missing is:

  1. Lack of "HTML ENCODE" switch, which would allow us:
    • use Qlik Script/Expression to build custom code
    • use Expression to custom format tables
      • conditional background
      • conditional fonts style/border/size/width etc
      • creation of multi page pivot-like looking tables (not images, but actual pivot tables with grouped dimensions, conditional formatting, scalable and device friendly - like the one on picture below:

        •

  2. Lack of Format pattern when "Keep Source Format" is off - this is less important, but still very usefull in certain scenarios and is very time saving if you need to deal with

Why those are important? Because most of the HTML questions from users on community I answered were using this feature to solve particular issue they were facing.

Also while playing with this solution I didnt see option to:

  • use new pivot table object (even as an image)
  • use old pivot table as a "table" data dump - instead you could only use it as an image. You wouldn't use though as it has very limited styling capabilities.

I will definitelly be testing this one to see how it works with all other tricks I used to use to deliver high quality reports. Hope the above can be quickly fixed given that it is breaking change if we think about client migration.

Thanks

Lech

Good news! An Object level filters feature would be very useful and make it easier to transfer reports from Nprinting. I wish it were also possible to export filters from Nprinting similar to exporting templates.

Great feature @Andrew_Kruger - I was looking forward to this one!

We directly started exploring and next to all the things that work well (most of it), I would like to mention two points that would make it even better in my view:

- Allowing for PDF as output format in the mail attachments. When deciding between sending the report as an HTML mail or attaching the report as file, I believe the former is the way to go for a limited number of charts/volume of content overall and interactivity (think "3 most important insights for today with links to the sheets") while the latter would be the way to go for static, multi-page reports (think "quarterly sales report per sales rep and region"). HTML is fine for crafting the reports but for the actual output for this latter use case I believe PDF would be preferable.

- To match the report output as closely as possible to the platform and the in-app UI, HTML/CSS support is a huge step forward. One open point is font support, which requires linking to or importing custom fonts in an enterprise scenario. I see that importing external sources may be out of reach due to security concerns but an option could be making available fonts added to the Qlik tenant via Custom Themes.

Best regards,

Tom
