Qlik Excel add-in : Connection in progress never succeeds

Hello,

I downloaded the manifest.xml of an oAuth client already used by someone successfully in my organization.

I dropped this file in a shared folder and I manage to display the Qlik add-in in my Excel (Office 21 on-prem).

When I start the add-in, I have the connection window, I fill in my credentials correctly.

The identification window closes and the add-in then remains indefinitely on "connection in progress" without ever succeeding.

I don't know where to look to solve this problem. Has anyone here already had the same problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Perhaps you are on a VPN that is going through a firewall that is attempting to enable access or possibly blocking it within its firewall.

Or simply your office firewall needs to be address. Please share this with our IT team if the issue is present for your entire office.

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/Introduction/qlik-cloud-...

To get a better understanding of the problem:

1. Open your MS excel in Office365.com cloud.

2. Enable HAR file logging Save network web traffic (HAR/XML file) and consol... - Qlik Community - 1714049

3. Capture the log and start a support case with Qlik Support. Or if you prefer, you can share the file with your IT team as they may be able to work with you to resolve any VPN or firewall issues.

If you are purely on premise, check this for MS excel logging which you can also share with your IT team or with Qlik if needed.

The assumption here is that this is working for others at your office ie: the manifest and oauth are configured correctly.

Hello,

thanks for your answer Franck.

I'm indeed purely on-prem.

I've asked my IT to check Qlik IPs.

Do you think it's possible to have a clue of what's happening with the debugger screenshot i've just linked ?

Thanks

Open microsoft edge and turn off tracking services (even if you are using a different browser),

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/learn-about-tracking-prevention-in-microsoft-edge...

Then retest.

It could be that 'edge' tracking service is set to be too strict and blocking the extension add in from loading normally.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Ensure that you add 'all' origins including 'alias' urls in your oauth setup.

An origin address is the original tenant url and any alias address configured to access the tenant.

Make sure that your original tenant address is included in the oauth origins in addition to any aliases that have been created to access the tenant.
