Tabular reporting | How to achieve minimized subdimension in excel, from the start? "minimized pivot table"
Hi Everyone!
I've just gotten started with Tabular reporting so my experience is somewhat limited.
Lets say I want to produce a table with two dimensions, brand & product and some measures. I want the layout/functionality to be close to a pivot table, meaning that I can expand/minimize the products for each brand. Another important aspect in this task, is that the products should be minimized when the file is generated/open.
When trying the native excel pivot table approach, the report always gets generated as expanded? Additionally, I've explored grouping on a straight table. However, my approach does not generate a group for every brand but there is a high possibility that I might be missing something in my approaches? Any ideas how to achieve this functionality?
Additionally, to my understanding it is not possible to use VBA as reporting only supports xlsx files?
