General Web Connector - Support for NTLM authentication

Support for NTLM authentication in the General Web Connector would be very helpful with internal solutions that don't support any other authentication method.

For instance, we have a system to manage AD groups that can only manage NTLM authentication.

Such support for NTLM authentication would let us manage user membership into AD groups from Qlik Sense, i.e. we could use Qlik Sense to read the list of users from the backend data base (could be Salesforce, SQL Server, a data lake...) and automatically add/remove them from AD groups that are set in Qlik Sense at Stream/App levels.

Hi - Does the Qlik REST Connector allow you to connect to this service? It does appear to support NTLM:

Hi Chris, thanks for your swift response.

Yes, the REST connector does support NTLM authentication.

However, the REST connector only supports GET and POST methods, where we also need PUT/DELETE methods to add/remove users from AD groups.

PUT/DELETE methods are available from the General Web Connector.

If that's easier, I am happy to rename that idea as "Support PUT/DELETE methods with the REST connector".

Hi,
First, apologies for a very late response, although we have no plans adding any authentication options to the generic web connector. However, the REST connector is targeted to get an overhaul sometime later this year, and the additional PUT/DELETE methods will then be considered.
Thanks,
P-O
