Hide Published Apps in Hub with Access Denied

Unlike Qlikview, Qlik Sense still displays published applications to users who cannot open them due to section access security.

It would be preferable to not display these applications in the Hub.

Unpublished applications should still be visible to the owner when access is denied.

Hello,

we also need this function! It's important to see only apps, where you can access data restricted by section access.

Yup, I think this should be included in Qlik Sense.

Hi all, changing the status to "Closed - Declined" as we did spend time on that one to investigate the options. This does not align with how the backend works in Qlik Sense as it does have a bigger performance impact if you need to open Apps first behind the scenes. With some clients, we have been able to achieve basically the same thing by using the "Loop & Reduce" capability which uses the Spaces concept. As you can publish the same Apps to different Spaces with different data sets in it and so to speak making sure, that people only see those Apps with data in it that they can see. Section Access can be of course used to further reduce the amount of data in those apps, if needed. You do find a description of that Loop & Reduce approach with Spaces here -> https://help.qlik.com/en-US/migration/Content/Migration/loop-and-reduce.htm

And to better organise Apps across multiple Spaces, we are working on a capability which allows you to group content (such as apps) together and present it as part of a global collection. That is a planend feature on our roadmap and will allow you to basically ignore Spaces from and organisational perspective and leverage Spaces for the content specific permissions you need to apply.

Best regards,

Thomas
