Installation fails with The centralized logging setup failed or Could not validate database user

An installation or upgrade of Qlik Sense, may fail with "The Centralized logging setup failed" or "Could not validate database user".

Other possible errors include:

Windows Event log:

The following information was included with the event: LOG: invalid value for parameter "lc_time": 
The following information was included with the event: LOG: invalid value for parameter "lc_numeric": 


Event Log Details:

FATAL: password authentication failed for user "qliksenserepository"
DETAIL: Password does not match for user "qliksenserepository"
Connection matched pg_hba.conf line 80: "host all all 127.0.0.1/32 md5"

Environment:

  • Qlik Sense Enterprise, all versions

 

Resolution:

 

Special characters:

The user qliksenserepositry was changed during the initial install.

Incorrect password:

Adjust IP Address setup:

  • During the setup is an Advanced Settings for the IP Addresses. 
  • If these are being changed from default IPv6 and IPv4 -- to allow listening for RIM nodes, then add     ::0/0, 0.0.0.0/0
