Users authenticating with Qlik Cloud will be required to update to the latest version of Qlik Sense Desktop on February 15, 2022.

If you have been authenticating with an old version of Qlik Sense Desktop, you will be notified and given a download link when signing into your instance. Please follow this link to install the latest version. The Qlik Sense Desktop installer is ~1GB in size, so please allow 15 minutes for the upgrade process.

We appreciate your patience,

Qlik Global Support

Hey @Katie_Davis ,
Just to be sure: authentication of Qlik Sense Desktop with Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows will be affected somehow? (i.e. QSD February 2022 with QSEoW August 2021)

Hi @rzenere_avvale ,

QSEoW will work as before, but you need to have QSD February 2022 to be able to authenticate against QCS.

If you have QSD November 2021, you will still be able to authenticate against QSEoW November 2021.

Thanks!

I'm not a big user of Qlik Sense Desktop but this seems really short notice for a breaking change like this. Also aren't Qlik Sense On-Premises products meant to be supported for 24 months following release? https://www.qlik.com/us/-/media/files/legal/license-agreements/additional-terms/on-premises-products...

Perhaps some context around why this is necessary and a good thing might help understand the sudden, short-notice change?

Hi @AlexOmetis

This is a small upgrade needed for users authenticating with Qlik Cloud that should take between 10-15 minutes to complete. This change is required due to changes in the Cloud to further improve security.

Qlik Sense On Premise products continue to be supported and users authenticating against Client Managed versions will not need to upgrade. Users authenticating against the Cloud are considered Hybrid users and have different requirements due to QCS.

Thanks,

Katie

Hi @AlexOmetis !
@Katie_Davis has explained it perfectly. I would like to add that it is a good practice to keep Qlik Sense Desktop constantly updated when authenticating against the Cloud, in order to have some kind of feature parity with the SaaS version.
We also have certain upgrade requirements when using Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows to deploy apps to Qlik Cloud, so there are already some limitations to the 24-month supportability of client-managed software when used in a hybrid setup.

Hi

Ever since upgrading to the latest Feb22 Patch 1, and now Patch 2 - I'm getting an error "Failed to Open Selected Hub". Is there a known issue? or bug

Thanks

R

Hello @rakeshshah

This is a known issue. See Failed to open the selected hub: Cannot authenticate Qlik Sense Desktop February 2022 against Qlik S....

We recommend using an earlier version of Qlik Sense Desktop for the time being.

All the best,

Sonja

Thank you @Sonja_Bauernfeind for the info. Just as an FYI the new downloads page does not have a link to an older version of QS desktop, would be good to have the prior version added or make the old link a little easier to find.

thanks

Rakesh

@rakeshshah I'm not sure which version you are looking for, but the download site does contain all the currently supported Qlik Sense Desktop releases. Please toggle the "Visibility" selection to show more than the latest release.
