We are happy to share with you the new Entitlement Analyzer for Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS! This application will enable you to answer questions like:

  • How can I track the usage of my Tenant over time? How are my entitled users using the Tenant?
  • How can I better understand the usage of Analyzer Capacity vs. Analyzer & Professional Entitlements?

Entitlement Analyzer.png

The Entitlement Analyzer is only available for Qlik Cloud subscription types. Refer to the compatibility matrix within the Qlik Cloud Monitoring Apps repository for an overview of which monitoring app is compatible with which subscription type.

The Entitlement Analyzer app provides insights on:

  • Entitlement usage overview across the Tenant
  • Analyzer Capacity – Detailed usage data and a predication if you have enough
  • How users are using the system and if they have the right Entitlement assigned to them
  • Which Apps are used the most by using the NEW "App consumption overview" sheet
  • And much more!

The Entitlement Analyzer uses a new API Endpoint to fetch all the required data and will store the history in QVD files to enable even better Analytics over time.

 A few things to note:

  • This app is provided as-is and is not supported by Qlik Support.
  • It is recommended to always use the latest app.
  • Information is not collected by Qlik when using this app.

The app as well as the configuration guide are available via GitHub, linked below.

Any issues, questions, and enhancement requests should be opened on the Issues page within the app’s GitHub repository.

Hi @Jamie_Gregory ,

is there a simple way to adjust the timeframe for USAGE_DATEs ?

My app worked presented data from the begininng of the project (more less 2 years) and now I can only see consumption from 2024.

Thanks
Piotr

@psublue98 hey, I just installed the last version and I need the data from a year ago. I saw your comment on changing the MONTH_START, but it did not work...

What else I should do?

Thank you

@Laura_qlik Sorry to hear that. We're still on an older version v1.2.11 where it seems to be working still. Based on Sonja's post it looks as though they would rather the questions and issues posted to the github repo for it,

Guys, if you face the same issue pls follow @Sonja_Bauernfeind advice - go to Qlik Cloud Entitlement Analyzer on GitHub and add the comment. It seems we need to push a bit the issue and show it's a common pain ...

Hi All,
Installed the new Entitlement Analyzer v2.3.0 and set up and configured it.

We are on capacity licencing.

Post reload in summary it shows:
*******************************
WARNING! This tenant is on a capacity-based license, which the Entitlement Analyzer does not support as it analyzes user-based licenses. Dropping all tables and halting...
*******************************

Nowhere mentions this in the guidance or troubleshooting.

Anyone else know how to get around this and allow the Entitlement Analyzer v2.3.0 to work for a capacity licenced Qlik Cloud? (I see the code in the 'Check Licence' script sheet, but need to know the best way to edit it to allow this app to work for us).

Regardless of the capacity licences being different, this app still provides some useful user and app use data for us.

Regards, Carl.

Hello @CarlFortey

This app is, as the error indicates, only intended to provide information about:

  • Which users are accessing which apps
  • Consumption of Professional, Analyzer and Analyzer Capacity entitlements
  • Whether you have the correct entitlements assigned to each of your users
  • Where your Analyzer Capacity entitlements are being consumed, and forecasted usage

For your requirement, I recommend logging an idea to our product team to make the need for a separate app heard.

Other questions and issues you have around the app in the appropriate should be discussed in the appropriate git hub section: Qlik Cloud Entitlement Analyzer.

All the best,
Sonja

@Jamie_Gregory This is kind of a sidenote, but the headline for this topic is "Entitlement Analyzer for Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS". Isn't that a bit misleading? I'm under the impression that Qlik Sense Enterprise is the on-premises solution, and that the app that is discussed here is only for the cloud (SaaS) solution? "Qlik Sense Enterprise Saas" sounds like something that works in both on-premises and in cloud. Or have I misunderstood the product namings?

Hello @henrikalmen

Thank you for your input!

Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS and Qlik Sense Business are user-based subscriptions with the number of users as value meter. See the subscription overview here.

Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows is how the on-premise solution is generally referred to.

I will add (Cloud only) to the header though to prevent any possible confusion based on the subject.

All the best,
Sonja

Ah, then I learned something new today - thanks @Sonja_Bauernfeind! But even after learning this, I like your idea of adding "cloud only" to the headline.
