Hi!

Seems like the KMeans*-Functions are now available in QlikView as well.

Can you please provide a full list of all new functions available in QlikView May 2021. I haven't found it in the release notes.

Thx,

Roland

Hi!

Imho "Autonumber  using" is documented the first time as well (even it works in older versions as well).

Not quite sure why all this is hidden in the QlikView 12.60 release notes. Is this by purpose? I imagine that many QlikView Developers would be glad to hear about these features.

Personally I have learned to test all functions that were added to Qlik Sense in each new QlikView major release. Typically they do work in QlikView as well. Thanks to the same engine, I guess...

Thx,
Roland

@Jamie_GregoryI'm a little confused by two of these:

  • Ability to share bookmarks with an Analyzer license
  • QVF support for converted QVWs

As far as I know, QlikView doesn't have an Analyzer license, and doesn't read QVFs. These sound like Qlik Sense enhancements?

Hey @Or ,

for the first point... QlikView is able to use the same Professional/Analyzer licenses, "historically" available on Qlik Sense, since April 2019. See Configure Professional and Analyzer access in QlikView Server

For the QVF point, I've seen you're actually able to create new QVF files on QlikView... but they are still QlikView apps.
Probably this change has been done to start 'merging' the available formats only to QVF, in the future.
Or maybe this is due to how SaaS handles uploaded QVWs?

@Or

you can save QVW in QVF format and open that in QlikView and QlikSense.  Only QVW converted in QVF.

Can someone clarify what is meant by "added support for larger QlikView Apps on SaaS"? I've checked the release notes, and there isn't any further details.

@Or QlikView can use Analyzer licenses. It's also what is used in SaaS so if users opt to put QVWs in the Cloud, professional and analyzer licenses will be used.

When you upload a QVW to SaaS, it converts the file to a QVF. Previously, there was not a way to modify these converted QVF's. You can now bring them into QlikView to make changes and reimport the files back into SaaS. They cannot be used on AccessPoint.

@Carl_Hunter I am looking into the specifics for you 🙂 I should have an answer tomorrow.

@Carl_Hunter Support for the size increased from 500 MB to 5 GB. I hope that helps! This is for publishing QV apps in the cloud and not converting/migrating. The converter tool is still set to 500 MB.
