Shut down the subversion daemon

in this article, 
there is an instruction to: 
Shut down the subversion daemon and delete the  /talend/svn/repotis  repository.
but there are no instructions how to do it.  
How do we  Shut down the subversion daemon in Unix? 
 How do we  restart it the subversion daemon backup in Unix?

hi,

sudo /etc/init.d/svnserve start
 sudo /etc/init.d/svnserve stop
 sudo /etc/init.d/svnserve restart
