NetSuite (now part of Oracle) is the world's largest Cloud ERP software provider. Its integrated cloud business software suite includes business accounting, ERP, CRM and eCommerce software for the SMB market.
Data Connectivity options
There are several options for Qlik to work on NetSuite. These are your options (basic to most comprehensive in order)...
Option 1 - Direct Connectivity
There are no show-stoppers in connecting Qlik directly to NetSuite however, NetSuite does not provide metadata and does not publish any material that documents the entity relationship in its data structures. Therefore, while you can easily connect to NetSuite via traditional connectivity methods, the data is essentially a black box.
You can leverage ODBC/JDBC via SuiteAnalytics Connect (NetSuite charges a small fee for the driver), REST API, SOAP API or SuiteScript.
Option 2 - 3rd Party Connectors (Informatica)
As mentioned, there are 3rd party connectors in the market that do offer some level of visibility and map out about 10-20% of the primary keys in NetSuite data. Qlik has tested and successfully built sample Qlik visualisations using Informatica's NetSuite Connector with the Informatica Cloud. This option is best for those customers who may already be Informatica customers.
Option 3 - SuiteSolutions: QVX File Generation
NetSuite, with support and technical validation by Qlik, has developed and released an add-on bundle to their platform called QVX File Generation. This new SuiteSolution provides users with the ability to export the results of a Saved Search directly into a QVX-formatted file – a proprietary Qlik file format that is optimized for use with both QlikView and Qlik Sense. The feature can be provisioned to a customer’s NetSuite environment in minutes for a 1-time cost of $700 USD. Users now have a quick and easy way to leverage the full analytical and associative experience of Qlik against their NetSuite data.
Option 4 - Tactical Connect for Qlik®
Qlik has partnered with NetSuite Implementation Partner, Tactical Cloud LLC, to validate and co-market Tactical Connect for Qlik® - a connector for Qlik on NetSuite that has been certified by NetSuite as a SuiteApp and is now posted on suiteapp.com! Tactical Connect for Qlik® can also be provisioned to a customer’s NetSuite environment in minutes and offers the following benefits:
- Business users can easily access and sync all NetSuite data (via a single or multiple Saved Searches) into Qlik through a live, REST API-based connection.
- Business users can join as many NetSuite tables/objects with each other and 3rd party data sources in one Qlik app.
- Publish/embed Qlik visualizations back inside NetSuite portlets with full associative experience.
- Price: $5K per year subscription.
