Hi @hudhud_hoda ,

The advantage of importing user from excel file is,

User's information upload to Qlik Sense prior to user login/authenticate to Qlik Sense. After the user synced to Qlik Sense via Excel, the Qlik sense admin can assign the concerned license to the new user as well as security rule, etc. Everything is prepared before the new user's first login to avoid any surprise about the user's privilege in Qlik Sense.

For creating test users in Qlik Sense, you can create local user in Windows server. Then use this server credential login to Qlik Sense. Refer to this article.

Hope this helps.

Hi @hudhud_hoda

unfortunately, Excel doesn't have an authentication module. This means you still need an external authentication module like AD or Windows server local user etc.

Thank you very much for your answer, I don't understand then what is the advantage of adding users with Excel ODBC ???

all I wanted was to create some test users so that I could log in from my Windows account to their Qlik space and see if  Section Access  works. Is there any way to do this?
