How can it be so difficult to enter the ideation area?

I got an email from Qlik Ideation due to an added comment on a request, and the email has a link "Reply and see request details". When I click that link, all I get is this:

The I use the support link in the top menu of Qlik Community and I go to Ideation - Browse and Suggest https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideation/ct-p/qlik-product-insight and I search the idea I want to visit in the table. I find it and I click its link, only to end up at the same error message.

In the Browse and Suggest table there is a text stating "To post an idea or authenticate yout login, first click Suggest Features" above this app." So I click that link and all that happens is that I am returned to the same Browse and Suggest page again, and when I once again click the idea link I still get the same error as in the image above.

"Suggest features" is the first of the links in this widget bar above the ideas table:

The second widget says "Open Portal" but the same thing happens as when I click the first link.

The third widget is Learn More [about Ideation], and it leads to https://community.qlik.com/t5/About-Ideation/ct-p/qlik-aboutideation. On that page there are five links at the bottom and only the first and last are working, the other (e.g. "How to submit an idea") leads to an error page.

Just before posting this message I come up with the idea to try with Google Chrome instead of Firefox that I am using - and now the link in the email that I got works! But instead, the Browse and Suggest table gives me an authenticate button, and when I click that I end up on an error page at ideation.qlik.com. Well, after once again reloading the Browse and Suggest page I can use it in Chrom and redirections to the ideation area works.

But I choose to post this anyways, even though I got it working in Chrome in the end. Does it really have to be this complicated to access ideation?

The try-it-now-link works in Chrome and Edge, so that's good! If I'm not already authenticated with QlikID, I get the ususal login page and then I end up at the correct destination ("the idea").

It doesn't work in Firefox though, and it doesn't matter if I am logged in in the qlik community or not. (But I can't be 100 % certain that it's not a browser plugin that messes things up, I have a bunch of those in Firefox.)

I'm really looking forward to all ideations links to be functional, thanks for your hard work on this.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the ongoing support. This is now live to all and should be considered complete!

In the ideation portal, you can copy Idea URLs and share them with anyone, as they have the following format: https://ideation.qlik.com/app/#/case/273570?cpid=be69a79b-d0b2-46ac-93b6-c3ebd056ed34 .

As long as the cpid= parameter is there, any users that aren't logged in will be redirected, as per the information above.

I will update documentation and make announcements on the ideation area. But this should make for a much more simple workflow!

I remember logging at least two community bugs related to this.... i hope it gets improved even more going forward.

Hi all, just a final response here.

As of a few months ago, you are able to share links like https://ideation.qlik.com/app/#/case/273570?cpid=be69a79b-d0b2-46ac-93b6-c3ebd056ed34 which will use Qlik Community SSO login to authenticate you and log into Ideation.

Alternatively, you can always use the authentication by clicking on the first card on https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideation/ct-p/qlik-product-insight.

If you have any issues still, please clear your cache and check pop-up blockers (just in case). Then, message me here or shoot an email over to ideation@qlik.com.

This appears to have broken again. Whatever I do to try and get to an idea (click on the idea, click on the link you shared, click on suggest feature... in regular browser, in incognito) I just get:

AlexOmetis_0-1760111994735.png

If I put my email in and click the button, nothing happens.

Surely there's a way to get this working smoothly... disincentivising feedback this way is poor form.

I have found that on a computer where browser security is locked down, it works on edge and will not work at all on chrome. there are various settings that must be enabled for it to work properly, and if you work some place with strict security, this may not be possible to change. I forget what settings were required.... maybe it was allowing 3rd party cookies? hope this info helps.  If you log a ticket or chat with support, they can help get you logged in.

The example link in the answer that was marked as solution for this issue still works for me. I tried in Firefox and Chrome (on Windows 11).
