Hi,
I don't regularly post on the Qlik community but as a Qlik Developer it is an invaluable daily resource for reference
I have hundreds of bookmarks which now don't work, instead I get a very nice message telling me to check my URL for typos 🙂
The user experience on the old forum in my opinion was much better, readability and the ability to find a solution quickly was much easier.
Also did I miss something or was the community asked/told about the move to a new format?
I'm sure I'm not the only one with these issues?
Hi @Harry_M
Can you please give me examples of your bookmarked links that are currently not working?
Because the routing we've set in place should let you use the old links, but be redirected to this new Community.
Also, we're having an update made to the Community today to fix amoung other things, the re-routing issue we've seen in some examples.
Thanks in advance
-Mattias
Hi Mattias,
Please find an example of a bookmark below, that's reverting to this url: https://community.qlikview.com/___sbsstatic___/maintenance.html
To be honest, more of my links are now working which weren't before, and I've just caught up on the redirect discussions, maybe I just need a longer readjustment period. 🙂
aha! Thanks Frank!
Edit: Just to add I had to change http to https, otherwise it still reverted back to the maintenance page
Glad it got sorted.
As I mentioned we have been working on getting the routing sorted, and it seems the links to the "community.qlikview.com" had not gone through as planned.
I'll investigate in greater detail, but good that you found a temporary workaround at least.
All the best
-Mattias
Hi there @Harry_M ,
I would like to understand more about your readability concerns so I can share this with the design team. I'll reach out to you so we can discuss in more detail. Also, we have implemented a few things to make finding solutions easier, but let me work on getting those things better documented! Thanks for the nudge on that, and I appreciate you writing in. Best Regards, M
Thanks Mattias
I still get the maintenance page even if I use https. I was wanting to get to the old site to compile a document to compare features of new and old alongside what I like or don't like about each.
It would have been useful if Qlik had sent out a survey to all members when they were planing this change to find out which features we really liked and wouldn't want to lose. I'm not at all averse to change, but sometimes a change just for the sake of it isn't always a good thing. Don't fix things which aren't broken is a saying for good reason.
