April Fools' Day is the favorite holiday of which animal? The silly goose! Happy April, everyone!
This month, we spotlight a Qlik Community member using the platform for 17 years. The statistics I'm about to share began in 2020 when he created a new profile. Since then, he has made almost 1,000 posts, solved hundreds of problems, and given and received countless likes. He's not only active in the forums, but he also belongs to like-minded Community groups. You may know him as QFabian. It's my pleasure to introduce our featured member for April, valued customer and Specialist III, Fabian Quezada. Here is his remarkable Qlik story in his own words.
During my free time, I like to observe the stars and planets within my reach and enjoy discovering the rings of Saturn and the colors of Jupiter. Then, I see all the data that is used and generated before and during the observation. With Qlik, everything is prepared for observation and discovery. Data and business rules are obtained and processed, and the results are graphed for analysis and discovery.
Qlik is an effective and proven way to deliver reliable data for decision-making in a friendly and intuitive interface in memory, and Qlik has been doing it for many years. Qlik's associative engine is unique and extraordinary. Whether you choose cloud, local, or hybrid, Qlik always delivers.
I have been a fan of the Qlik community for a long time. My current account isn't that old. I created the first one in 2007, but I lost it. Although many companies have community sites, Qlik is a pioneer in this regard, and the collaboration between Qlik personnel and the rest of the Community membership is impressive. Being part of the Community allows me to keep challenging my mind. I always try to provide quick and effective answers with detailed explanations and practical examples, just as I would like all cases I review to be when I seek to understand new concepts or encounter script challenges.
It's also important to note that being a member of the Qlik community makes me feel like I am part of something big.

Happy May everyone! Believe it or not, this month is our 12th edition of Round of Applause! Even though it’s a cool name, we wanted an even cooler name for our featured members so from here on in we are going with High Five! This Community member has over 20K posts, received more than 8k likes, answered over 4K questions, and is a well-known leader in the Qlik Community. Today’s High Five goes to no other than Community MVP, Gysbert Wassenaar.
Gysbert joined the Qlik Community in September 2012. He had been visiting for a while, looking for answers to Qlik challenges he encountered in his job. He was already impressed by the quality of the answers he saw and by Community members who gave great solutions and advice. Gysbert was also impressed that Qlik employees participated actively. The day he decided to join the Community was when he saw a question from a community member and thought: "Hey, I think I know the answer to that." It was then he started participating, and he became hooked! Gysbert said he’s never learned so much so quickly about a product. Every question posted was another opportunity to expand his knowledge and Qlik skills. Three months later, he was a Top 5 contributor. He recalls passing Stefan Wühl as top contributor about a year after he joined. The feedback from other community members, and especially from Qlik Community legends like Deepak Vadithala, Stefan Wühl, John Witherspoon, Miguel Angel Baeyens, Henric Cronström, Rob Wunderlich, Marcus Sommer and so many more, was awesome and a big motivating factor to keep coming back to the Qlik Community.
In his personal life, Gysbert is very fortunate to be living in a small beautiful medieval city in the Netherlands. He likes reading, taking walks in the countryside, learning about new technologies, and learning new tricks he can apply in his job.
Let’s give a big “High Five” to Gysbert with a like and a comment to show how much we appreciate his collaboration in the Qlik Community. @Gysbert_Wassenaar @Melissa_Potvin @marcus_sommer @rwunderlich @hic@Miguel_Angel_Baeyens @swuehl @johnw @IAMDV

I got an email from Qlik Ideation due to an added comment on a request, and the email has a link "Reply and see request details". When I click that link, all I get is this:
The I use the support link in the top menu of Qlik Community and I go to Ideation - Browse and Suggest https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideation/ct-p/qlik-product-insight and I search the idea I want to visit in the table. I find it and I click its link, only to end up at the same error message.
In the Browse and Suggest table there is a text stating "To post an idea or authenticate yout login, first click Suggest Features" above this app." So I click that link and all that happens is that I am returned to the same Browse and Suggest page again, and when I once again click the idea link I still get the same error as in the image above.
"Suggest features" is the first of the links in this widget bar above the ideas table:
The second widget says "Open Portal" but the same thing happens as when I click the first link.
The third widget is Learn More [about Ideation], and it leads to https://community.qlik.com/t5/About-Ideation/ct-p/qlik-aboutideation. On that page there are five links at the bottom and only the first and last are working, the other (e.g. "How to submit an idea") leads to an error page.
Just before posting this message I come up with the idea to try with Google Chrome instead of Firefox that I am using - and now the link in the email that I got works! But instead, the Browse and Suggest table gives me an authenticate button, and when I click that I end up on an error page at ideation.qlik.com. Well, after once again reloading the Browse and Suggest page I can use it in Chrom and redirections to the ideation area works.
But I choose to post this anyways, even though I got it working in Chrome in the end. Does it really have to be this complicated to access ideation?
In the release notes section of Qlik Community there are filtering options above the list of posts. The filter "Products" does not work. When selecting a product the list updates, but whatever product I choose the result is just some kind of sorting where either NPrinting or QlikView ends up at the top.
Hello,
How can I create a pie chart with two dimensions in QlikView? Additionally, how can I draw an arrow similar to the one in the picture?
Hello Everyone,
I have been learning Qlik Sense for 2 months, but now I'm having difficulties to create table in QS.
I attached the header part of my table. How can I create the same header in Qlik Sense?
Thannk beforehand
HI,
I'm facing an issue where I can't find the snapshot option when selecting the filter pane visualization, unlike other visuals where it's readily available. Additionally, I require live data in the storytelling sheet and the ability to utilize filtered pane visuals within it.

Hi Guys,
I have a field called month1 and want to create a field called financial month starting april month to mar month but when I select fy 23 in a new field called financial year it should calculate.
Please reply asap
We are marching right into March! This month, we are featuring another rising star in the Qlik Community. This person is a leader on our weekly and monthly leaderboard. He has posted more than four hundred times and received as many likes. He has earned the rank of Specialist in the Community and is also a member of Qlik Nation. It is with immense pleasure to introduce our March featured member Henrik Almen, AKA henrikalmen.
Henrik’s journey in his own words:
“In 2014, I had a position that included various analysis tasks and database queries. A manager from another department approached me and said something like, “We have this tool, QlikView, that we should use more, and I think you should study it and become our BI Developer - what do you say? Your career will benefit from it when you eventually want to move on from here.”
Naturally, I said yes, then attended a QlikView training course and earned a developer certification. As suggested to me, it was a smart career move.
The Qlik community forum quickly proved to be an incredibly useful resource. It was essential when I started to learn QlikView, and it continued to help me when I transitioned to Qlik Sense. It still supports me after years as a Qlik developer.
I learn so much from reading other people's posts and replies, and I challenge myself by trying to find solutions to tricky issues. I also help by explaining what's happening and/or pointing questioners in the right direction instead of serving them with a solution. Learning something new benefits the user in the long run rather than applying a ready-made solution he or she might not fully understand.
In my spare time, I sing in the vocal band Vocal Brand; you can listen to us on your preferred music streaming service or at https://www.youtube.com/@vocalbrand.”
Henrik’s band is so impressive, such exceptional talent. I would urge you to follow our rising on his YouTube channel and friend him on the Qlik Community! One is the Order table which contains Ordered_Date and another is the Invoice table which contains GL_date. From these date columns, I extract the Year from each of the tables. Like from the order table, I extract the year from the order date and in the invoice table I extract the year from gl_date. Now I want to create a master calendar by linking the year from both tables and using the master calendar Year in my analysis. Is it possible? What will be the code if someone can tell me and How can I relate to the data manager or something?
I'm trying to make a master calendar which links gl_date from the invoice table with the ordered date in the order table but when I create a data bridge it shows me 4 tables why is it? After this, I don't how to make the master calendar code. Anyone who can help me make the code or fix it? I just want the year and month only in canonical date calendar or master calender. I want to use year from gl_Date and filter my results based on that. The common order number in both tables
I want to use a filter year ok. The year will be extracted from GL_DATE and when I select 2021 it should match with year of the Ordered date which I have already taken out in the order lines table. The gl_date is in the invoice table. The only common relation between both is Order Number. I want to use this in a KPI. I tried using these but it gives me zero
Count({<GL_YEAR = {"$(=only(Ordered_year))"}, FLOW_STATUS_CODE = {'AWAITING_SHIPPING'}>} FLOW_STATUS_CODE)
//Count({<GL_YEAR = {"$(=only({<Ordered_year = {"*"}>} Ordered_year)))"}, FLOW_STATUS_CODE = {'AWAITING_SHIPPING'}>} FLOW_STATUS_CODE)
Can anyone fix it where I went wrong or make a code to fix my issue I saw the master calendar and canonical date but dk how to make the code for it as people are doing on same table. I have two table which have different dates and I want to do analysis based on there year and the common between them is order number. I want to use gl year as my filter but want it to match with order year once 2021 is selected from gl_year.
Hi Guys,
I have lot of sub fields in a single column how to make this data structure.
Kindly reply asap because it is little urgent
I have even attached the image for the reference and after this column I have month in row format and values which cannot be shared.
Hi everyone
I made a master calendar but the issue is it does not link it with the year of the master calender with the year of Gl year in the Invoice table and then I again created the year of the master calendar with the year of ordered date in the Order table. In the script, I just created the table but when I create the relation in the data manager it gives me this issue. I have separated the year from both tables in their tables also. I want my analysis to use GLdates year to show results so when I choose any year for example 2020 it shows pick the same year from the order date alos and show result.
This is my code in the load script.
// Create a master calendar based on GL_DATE
MasterCalendar:
LOAD
Date(GL_DATE) AS Date,
Year(GL_DATE) AS Year,
Month(GL_DATE) AS Month
Resident XX_INVOICE_GL_MV_TRIMMED;
I will be grateful if someone can help me fix it
I want to make one filter which is YEAR and it should understand which column I'm talking about. For example, I have three files order, lines and invoice. The order and line file have the ordered date and the invoice has gl date. Now what I did was I extracted their years like Year(ordered date) name year 1 for the order file and year 2 for lines but they are extracted from the same field but different files because the ordered date is coming in order and line file but Gl date only comes in invoice file. I created year 3 from the invoice file which contains Gl's date.
In my analysis, I want to use GL date to see my results so I want the filter to understand if I select 2020 from Year 3 it should understand or pick from the ordered date the year 2022 and show me the results.
I applied this equation in my KPI chart to make it understand but doesnt work.
Count({$<[YEAR3]={"=GetCurrentSelections (YEAR2)"},[ORDER.FLOW_STATUS_CODE]={'AWAITING_SHIPPING'}>} [ORDER.FLOW_STATUS_CODE]).
