Cleaning Log Files

I have just put the Governance dashboard in place, but I want to start with a clean slate of files. How do I clean out the log files? Where all do I need to clean out to have a total blank slate? I don't want to accidentily delete something that is needed.

If you just want to clean up Server / Publisher log files, remove all files under:

  1. For Server: C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer  -> this is the default location. However, you might have installed it elsewhere.
  2. For Publisher: C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\TaskResults --> This will remove the last task result for each doc task in Publisher.

With Server path, you might leave the following files which are not scanned by the Dashboard:

  • BorrowedCalData.pgo
  • CalData.pgo
  • Exit.log
  • FUL.dat (if there)
  • IniData.pgo
  • Lef.txt
  • ServerCounters.pgo
  • Settings.ini
  • TicketData.pgo

If you are just looking to start fresh with the Governance Dashboard (i.e., remove prior scan logs), remove all the files under:

  • C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Governance_1.1\profiles\default\QVX_LastRun
  • C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Governance_1.1\profiles\default\QVD_Historical

Once again, these are the default folder locations.
