Excellent job opportunity for a database administrator<http://coamagic.coacd.org/MagicTsd/timeout.aspxhttps:/www.austincityjobs.org/postings/41288> with interest in QlikView.  The City of Austin, Texas Fire Department has a mature, very successful QlikView implementation (last year: 700+ unique users) and we are ready to go to the next level ensuring the long-term scalability and sustainability of our system, data, and application architecture.  This person will also administer our full-featured open-source relational database<http://www.firebirdsql.org/en/about-firebird/> which supports our business systems, including numerous web-based applications.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in QlikView and wanting to learn more.  We are committed to professional development and are willing to train and support this person's career.

Our ideal candidate is someone with experience in database administration, data modeling, and SQL, with a desire to learn and grow our QlikView deployment.  In other words, general DBA experience is fine; it doesn't have to be in our specific tool set.  We're a small shop, but there's a lot going on and we've had people leverage their experience here in the Austin Fire Department for good career moves.

Starting pay is $63K- $81K depending on qualifications.  A salary adjustment is expected in Oct. 2014, but offer will be at the starting pay rate listed here.  The City of Austin offers excellent benefits, flexible work conditions, substantial autonomy, and meaningful work where you can make a difference.  And Austin is a great place to work, live, and play.

You must apply for the database administrator position<https://www.austincityjobs.org/postings/41288> on the City of Austin job site.
