I would recommend you 2 things:
1. Enable the Alpha conversion in the Connection String using: ConvRoutine=1
Now if you extract the data field MATNR should look like: 12345-123456
2. Identify the delimiter position (for example '-') and concatenate the two numbers from each side of the delimiter , as a number
I your problem is, for example a long code in SAP.
MatNr = '000000000012345678'
What I do is suppress zeros using le Right function.
Num(Right(MatNr,8)) = 12345678.
Second. if your code y variable but less than 14, suppress zeroes,
Num(Right(MatNr,14)) = 12345678.
And the third option could be :
Mid(MatNr,FindOnOf(MatNr,'123456789')) = 12345678.
