One of our users is getting this error when accessing a report via ie plugin. other users are fine. any ideas on what causes this?
Did you install QlikView plugin earlier.
I suggest yo to uninstall Qlikview plugin from client PC and Install a new plugin by downloading it from access point.
Hopefully it shouls resolve your issue.

This looks like a client issue.. have you checked the settings of this user's Internet Explorer?

Need to make sure port 4747 is open between the users machine and the QlikView server. Also, if the user is outside your network the LinkMachineName needs to be set.
you mean port 4747 on the user machine? it should be open on the server as other users do not have this problem
How about a local firewall?
local firewall did not help either
Open a command window and do a telnet servername 4747 and tell me what you get. You might have to enable telnet on the machine.
I get a blank screen....
You should have gotten a blinking Cursor.
I would open a ticket with support and see if they can help you.
