How long before a temporary PDF report is deleted?

When you print a PDF report in a server environment, the server uses the PDF writer to create the PDF which is stored in the Temp folder under a obscure name. That file is served to the user, and eventually it's automatically deleted from the Temp folder.

I want to know how much time goes by before the temporary PDF file is deleted - and if there's a way to adjust that limit?

The background is security concerns, the shorter time - the better.

Hi,

The issue was supposed to be fixed with 11.20 SR2

The timeout setting is

[Settings 7]

ServerTempSecTimeout=15  where the time is in seconds

Needs to be added to the QVS settings.ini file

Hi,

What version are you running (there was a bug in older version)? The default is 20 minutes.

We are currently running 11.20 SR2, does that version have that bug?

And, you wrote "default is 20" - is there a way to change it?

Thanks!

Thanks again, that's exactly what I needed!

One thing though, I do believe the timeout is set in seconds and not minutes as you mention - that's at least what my testing reveals.

You are correct it is in seconds.
