sales comparison by day name

I was wondering if you could tell me, how i would be able to formulate a comperative tablet.

my basic priority is to compare the last year's month sales to the sales we are making the current month.

Although i dont want the comparison to be based strictly on dates for example(1/1/13 -1/1/14) but i want to be based on the day names

for example (monday 1/1/13 - monday 2/1/14).

i would be grateful if you could guide me with the expressions i m supposed to use.

The first thing you need is to establish a standard of comparison. For example, you want to compare the 01/01/2013 to 01/01/2014 or you want to compare on Monday of the week xx with xx Monday of the week of the previous year.

According to the criterion formulas and approach is different
