How to add labels between points, to sections, in a line chart?

Hi folks,

How can all the section labels in the graph below be moved to the middle of the section?

The labels with one letter refers to the sections in between the connection points.

The labels of the connection points, A-B etc, are fine.

So the label A should be between ID 1 and 2, B between 2 and 3 and so on. The last one F should be moved to 6.5.

What is the simplest way here?

If adding new IDs at ID+0.5 then when the user selects a label that fake ID will be selected and the rest of the data will not be associated.
