Can you suggest me nice ideas to do with Qlikview?

hello,

I am working in a project in my internship, I will give some description,

well I have to make a Dashboard who show to the company the state of the computer equipment in all her entities over the world

so the chart should contains: the percentage of the camputers who have Windows 7 the one with windows XP... the same for Antivirus Version and other things.. Anyway my question is can I add something to this project any good ideas please?

because personnaly I dont find it fascinating. I want to do more things but i dont know what.

I thought about exporting the dashboard snapshat into PDF file and send it into an email to the responsible.

I was also thinking about making a workflow with BPMN who do this work..

Could you please suggest me a nice thing to do with Qlikview ? Thank you

Hello,

it depends on various aspects:

- Which data can you use?

- When and in which frequency are they updated?

- What does the responsible person require?

- What profits will he have from the dashboard?

Common requirements are for example:

- Warnings when some licenses are about to exceed.

- Warnings when some thresholds are passed.

- Development of KPIs or numbers (time aspect ony feasible if date is available)

Maybe you can ask your boss as well?

I liked the idea of warning( sending emails) when there is a problem, How can I do that? is there a possibility in qlikview?

Also for your question on some good ideas, in terms of designing the application, you can add a splash image on opening the application, also you can add some external help text files like word or pdf's to be launched by clicking on help buttons on the dashboard.

It looks rather easy to do it, but you never know which technical complications you will suffer. So just try. I have no experience with this topic by now.

Please check, what the goal for this mail is: It is not sent automatically, it seems.

Some ideas:

1. Collect the data sources, get interface contracts.

2. Build a QV application loading all this stuff to get an overview.

3. Connect the tables to a star scheme.

4. Use various diagrams that help to show the information, choose the best variant.

5. Clarify which thresholds you want to have checked as they are the most important.

6. When you are sure you have the dashboard designed in a good way then try to find a way to distribute it. (Better to have something visible first than trying to do a big bang solution that does not work in the end)

See it as a game and you will be pleased with every step you proceed

I am not  aware of the data, may be u can try below one

If your company has branches, may be you can include region filter and show how many are using Windows7/XP in that region zooming out in the map using heat maps like SVG Mapping extension.

If you can post screenshot of your app here .So,some one can find more ideas useful to u
