help with Date field in nprinting

hi ,

I am using a variable for date in nprinting. i need to generate report for date coming from the said variable.

I create a formula in template editor as vDate=date(today(),'MM/DD/YYYY'). and it displays numbers on my report instead of Date .

any suggestion ?
