using/saving bookmarks

We currently have 1 qvw with multiple sheets that multiple users will view (we are just starting to roll this out).  We have a particular user that wants to save some selections/fields so every time she goes in the qvw, it will save all of her selections and she won't have to slice and dice the data every time.  I believe you can achieve this by adding a bookmark and saving the qvw.  However I'm pretty sure we will not allow a user to save/overwrite the qvw since it is one everyone will use.  What can we do to achieve this for her?

thank you!

Use 'Allow Session Recovery' - This property saves the last document state in which the user last used the qvw but wont harm the source qvw.

Thanks

Hello-

Where is this 'allow session recovery' located? So any users could save bookmarks and it would save the version for themself only then?

I have  a question:

Does the user access the application from 'Access point' or directly open the qvw with desktop version?

We provide them a link which they log in using their Active Directory logins and from there it automatically opens the document for them. It bypasses the Access Point, I believe. We had a company get it started/developed for us. If saving bookmarks can not be done this way, we may need to have the link take them to the Access Point..then?

Got It.

(This is the general scenario in most of the companies.)

1. Saving the Layout & State as a bookmark  through accesspoint does not harm your qvw. (in your case its the custom link from where the user signs in and goes to the accesspoint but bypassing the accesspoint link)

-These bookmarks are saved in a server's location and not in the application where the document has an access to     that location and files.

But opening the application on the desktop and bookmarking is something that you are making changes to the application.

2. 'allow session recovery' location :  GoTo

Qlikview Management Console --> System tab --> click on Server --> Documents tab --> Check ' 'allow session recovery'
