Team,

Can you please advice what is the encryption used for the login password in Qlikivew?

One of the clients requires to know whether Qlikivew has the ability to encrypt user passwords to prvent unauthorised access?

Can you please help me on this?

Hi,

If you have used the AD connection to get user list and other details, then all password resides on AD server.

QlikView Doesnt store any password. It just uses the LDAP protocol to authenticate the users from AD.

Actually in our scenarios we apply section access and we load the login details with in the qlikview

so once the application reload, the login details will not visible

Hi Kaushik,

Thanks.

We are not using AD details . NTFS Authentication we are using

It is the normal Organization based domain login username and password we use to get to Qlikivew Access Point.

In this case which password encryption methodology being used.

Can you please advice?

Dear Avinash,

As you said your organization uses the normal Domain login username and password.

This is nothing but the AD. All users and password gets created on domain.

What QlikView does is when he gets username and password from login page, it sends that to AD to authenticate, AD then replies with the token if the username and password is right. depending on the reply from AD qlikview allows the login.

So in this process, QlikView do not store any password any where.
