I actually accidentally loaded a copy of a 9.0 file from a demo I had attended into my 8.2 enterprise edition on my desktop, and aside from the new stuff that's not in 8.2, it actually loaded completely. 🙂 I don't know if it was supposed to or not, but I would say it would probably work.
I don't think a reload would be a problem. The problem would be if the server tried to open it for a user.
