difference between normal logging and debug logging

Hi, my customer is having an enormous eventlog (3 GB), it's building up over 3 weeks to this size and we need to remove it once a month due to the size. The server stetting is set to normal, what is the difference between the normal and debug logging. What else can we do or is it normal that the logfiles get that big? Thanks for any help! Linda

The eventlog has a Severity/SeverityId setting that controls the amount of information written to the log. The levels are: 1 = Error, 2 = Warning, and 3 = Information. If your setting is 3 that could be the cause of your event log getting so large over a 3 week period.

Hi Linda,

If your logging in QlikView Server Management Console is set to "Normal" and not "verbose" and you still get a log file of that size it would be interesting to see what QVS is writing to the log file. A buildup of 1GB/week is not normal.

Regards,

Gustav
