Qlikview plugin doesn't work with windows 7 and ie 32 bits

A colleague of mine has a Windows 7 ultimate laptop. Runs 32-bit Internet Explorer. Still, the QlikView plugin doesn't work.
What could be the problem:

Internet Explorer: version 8.07
Windows 7 utlimate

Who can help me with this problem?

The solution was to uninstall the plugin an restart the notebook.

This is probably not all that helpful, but I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and using Internet Explorer 32-bit to use the QlikView plugin without problems. My IE version is 8.0.7600.16385.

Is there an error message or something that happens when he tries to open the document? It may be worth a try to reinstall the QlikView plugin. I don't see the QlikView plugin in the Manage Add-Ons section, but it can be found in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

He allways needs to give his user name and password.

When he opens a qvw he gets a small icon with a red cross.
