Installation / Configuration QlikView - QlikViewServer

Good morning.

Currently I have installed QlikView and I have to reboot my machine by technical problems .

That's why I'm looking for some guidance in installation and configuration of QlikView Server.

Also handling configuration / installation of licenses , as have the numbers of licenses but I understand you have to set the Managemente once installed QlikView.

Any help to take serious account of great help .

Buenos dias.

Actualmente tengo instalado QlikView y debo reiniciar mi maquina por problemas tecnicos.

Es por ello que estoy buscando alguna guia de instalacion y configuracion del QlikView Server.

Tambien el manejo de configuracion/instalacion de licencias, ya que tengo los numeros de licencias pero tengo entendido que hay que configurar el Managemente una vez instalado QlikView.

Cualquier ayuda para tener en cuenta seria de gran ayudar.

First of all, you've posted your question into QlikSense forum. Are you trying to configure QlikSense or QlikView server?

And second of all,  "some guidance in installation" should be available in the Installation Guide/Release Notes and other documents....

Please post more specific question...

I 'll have to install the QlikView Server and QlikSense , both because they will formatiar the server on which is installed today .

I found a guide for the installation of QlikSense (which I understand is the version desktop so to speak ), but for QlikView Server need to know what points have to be considered in terms of port configuration, additional settings for the AccesPoint and the Management Console.

If I am not very specific , not much to work with QlikView ago, that's why .

Could you please clarify what do you mean by "they will formatiar the server"?


If I understand you correctly, you need to have the QS DESKTOP version to be running on the box where QlikView SERVER will be running..  If so, you do not need to worry (as far as I know) about configuring QV Server ports any different (unless your IT team has any restrictions for open ports ranges).


Running QV and QS SERVERS on one box might be a problem though.

"They will Format the Server" is that reinstalled the OS ( In this case , we must reinstall Windows Server 2012 R2 for an issue of infection ) .

I will read all the information that you passed me any questions you have put me in touch this way.

No problem,

Just from my experience, the QS and QV desktop versions are working perfectly on one PC (Windows 8, Windows Server 2008). I did not try your configuration but I do not see the reason why they will not work in your case....

I was reading an instruction, and part found something that worries me and let me know if you got knowledge.
There are several documents that have applied licenses (Licenses the document).
As you comment, we will re-install the OS on the server for later reinstallation of QlikView.
Then, these files QlikView, which are assigned the licenses before copying them and remove them from the server, licenses should document them out? ... Why some of them are assigned to users.
If I am not very specific with my question, but I copy the part of the instruction.
"Managing Document licenses Document licenses are managed at the document level.
Click on the Documents tab, and open the list of documents under User Documents, and then a click on the Document tab CALs. The Summary tells you how many Document licenses are available and how many Have Been Assigned. You can enter the number of licenses to allocate to this document. Assigned users are added in the same way as named users-Either by Allowing automatic assignment or by manually assignment via the Manage Users button. You must click on the Apply button to save any Changes that you 'make.
Remember That You should remove all of the document licenses from a document before you remove That document from the server. If you do not, These licenses can Become orphaned- unassigned but unavailable to assign to another document. Further details on This are Given later. Also, it is worth Noting that you 'can make Changes on any of the tabs of the document properties before you need to click on the Apply button. However, it is probably a good idea to click to it for each tab. "

What they are saying is basically a recommendation to clear all all docs' licenses associations before you re-install the system (if possible). I am sure there is a way to reset these licenses through Qlik support, in case some catastrophic failure (system crash, for example), but I would recommend to do it before the installation.

Also, Qlik licenses re-allocation should go through some quarantine period (up to several days, depends on the CAL's type), so it's better to be prepared.

I will remove the licenses of the documents before reinstalling everything .
