I have a variable in QV that I just want to display in Nprint (On Demand). I do NOT want to use it as a filter.
if I add it as a variable in my Nprint project it just comes up as <variable> on the output
have you imported the variable in NPrinting ?? and where your trying to display this variable like sheet name or just as place holder value etc
Yes I have imported the variable into Nprinting.
I just want to give the user info about which period this report is for - either by putting the variable in the report itself, or even appended to the reportname.
Appending to report name is easy , you will get direct option in the dynamic report naming section .
If you have imported then it has to show , try to import it again and try ..
I have tried importing the variable again..still no luck.
On the Dynamic option - under Custom Dynamic Naming - I have added the QlikView variable (using the elipses next to the column, and it comes up as 'Invalid character in file name'
I just created another variable - and now it works...
thanks for your assistance
You may want to consider using a formula if you need formatting.
Say you have a variable like this in your QlikView document: vToday=now()
You can use it as a variable or format it in a formula like: text(date(vToday, 'DD/MM/YYYY'))
