I created a windows file share pointing at the folder on the central node where all log files are stored. Make sure to set proper Windows permissions on it.
Then create a new Sense data connection, pointing to those log files. Once again, make sure to set suitably restrictive (Sense) permissions on it.
Finally, create a copy of the operations monitor app, and modify the paths in it to point to the new data connection.
Reload from a rim node now works a treat - although a lot slower than if reloaded from the central node, as all log files have to be read over the network instead of from local disk.
This approach do require some developer skills, but to the best of my knowledge there isn't a a Sense 3 operations monitor that just runs on rim nodes out of the box. Some modification to the app is needed.
I think I have also seen a Qlik whitepaper discussing this topic... Might have been in their support knowledgebase.
