how to change label of y-axis

Hi,

i have some difficulties with changing the labels of the y-axis in a chart. The function shown in this chart is a discret one, which means the function has either the value 0 or (-1). I would like to replace 0 with "abc" and -1 with "abcd" (for example). Does anybody have an idea how i can solve this problem?

Best regards,

Mila

On the y-axis? Or do you mean a scatter-chart?

Hi,

You can do something like:

IF (function=0,'abc','abcd')

If the values are always 0 or -1, then the scale can be fixed. At that point, you can just put text boxes on top of the numbers. It's a cheap trick, but I've done it before.

Hi,

where can i write the function into, so that the labels of the y-axis change?

If i write it into functions in the properties of the chart, it cannot be displayed, since this function has characters as a value.

Hi,

Try putting the label you want in the Symbol field of the expression in the Number tab of the Chart Properties.

Hope this helps.
