New to cliqview - but confused

We've just purchased Qlikview Server and a number of named and document licenses. We've installed the server component on our own and I'll a little confused on how to create/update and run QV's on the server. Here's my understanding:

1. New Models Use Case

• Develop the model on my desktop using the Personal Edition (free download)
• Save the QV on the server file system;
• Load the QV from the personal edition

2. Updating an existing model

• Update the model on my desktop using the personal edition
• Save the QV on the server file system
• Load the QV from the personal edition

Is my understanding close? thanks

First you no longer use the Personal edition desktop. With the server came licensing information and use this to associate the desktop application. Once your report has been designed using the http://your_server:4780/qemc/Default.htm or http://yourserver:4780/qmc/Default.htm if you did buy publisher to configure the reports you have created for publication. The server manual spells this part out in detail. Search the forum for a good explanation of the licensing and the desktop setup as I am sure there is a good explanation out there.
