Save login credentials for Sense Desktop 3.2

Hi,

I've just updated to Qlik Sense Desktop 3.2 and can't find a way to save my qlikcommunity login credentials and not having to type them everytime I close the desktop client while developing on my laptop.. Is there a way to do this?

If there's no way to do it I hope the RD team add this feature for the next release.

Thanks.

Ok, so they've anounced that this is in fact a bug for the free version and that this should be fixed in the next release: Qlik Sense Desktop 3.2 Authentication Information

I hope they release this fix soon!

Hello Carlos,

According to the release note here:

"Sense Desktop will authenticate each time you open the application, unless there is no internet connection in which case the existing authentication will be valid for up to 10 days "offline" use. "

I hope with the free version for free users we will not have to log in each time.

Regards,

Rima

Hi Rima,

Thanks for the reminder, I did read the release note but was hoping that I had misunderstood the message and there was a form to save the credentials for the free version, which is what I'm using right now.

I understand the login requirement for business users, although I don't get why the desktop client can't save the credentials even for them... I think, everytime you log in as a business user, the sense server will check if you have a token assigned and grant you access if you do. So... If you saved your credentials but you no longer have a token assigned then you'll be rejected and will have to ask for a new token to the administrator or use the desktop version without having access to the content stored in the server. That's how I think this should work, maybe it's too complicated?

I hope someone from Qlik can give us an answer about it, or at least confirm if this is gonna change for the next release.

Thanks again for the reminder on the release notes.

Guys.

Was there any problem to use an unique Qlik Community Login ID for multiple instances of Qlik Sense Desktop?

Does this scenario may cause any error?

Do you mean... using the same login credential in different computers, at the same time?

In that case..., and I'm guessing here since I haven't tried it myself, I think the server would disconnect the oldest session/instance and allow the newest to connect. That's how QlikView used to work in that scenario.
