How to Sort the data in QlikView?

    Arghya Ray

      Hi Friends,

My requirement is not to sort the data while viewing the contents of column in table box format. When I execute the script, I have a xml from which i import data. The data it fetches is correct but in a sorted format. The order is in ascending format but I want QlikView to display the data in the same order as it fetched from the xml i.e. in the original format without any sorting. Can you please help me to achieve this?  Thanks!!

          Hi Arghya,

You can sort a dimension by its order in the origin source, in Sort slide of objetc properties. Does not it work in any case?

          Regards,

          H

                  Hi Arghya,

Create a list box, go to its properties and in Sort slide select "Load Order" and later "Original":

It should order your field as it comes in the XML file.

                  Regards,

                  H

                      Hi Hector,

Thanks for you help. It worked.

But I have another query. Problem is suppose in the xml file I have a tag in a format like:

                      <item>xyz_1234</item>

                      <funding>Scoch Corporation</funding>

                      <funding>There is a pool</funding>

                      <funding>Megacity Inn</funding>

                      <item>pqr_1234</item>

                      <funding>Deliver your best</funding>

                      <funding>World Wide Web</funding>

                      <funding>Macintosh</funding>

                      and so on...

When I Load this data from the xml, for each <item> I have to load each of the funding information in separate columns which I have succeded to do so. Now when I am viewing the data in table box format, for each <item> the data for funding gets arranged in ascending order. eg

                      1) For xyz_1234 data fetched is: Megacity Inn     There is a pool     Scoch Corporation

where correct format should be like

Scoch Corporation     There is a pool     Megacity Inn

                      2) For pqr_1234 data fetched is: Deliver your best     Macintosh     World Wide Web

where correct format should be like

Deliver your best     World Wide Web      Macintosh

can you help me how to achieve this?

                      Its urgent please.

                      Thanks and Regards,

                      Arghya

                          Hi Arghya,

I donot understand you well... I mean, I donot know if you have 4 fields: item, funding1, funding2 and funding 3; or only 2: item and funding. And if you need to order them first by item and later by funding...

Can you explain it? It would heko if you attach you xml file.

                          Regards,
                          H

                              Hi Hector,

I have only two fields doi and funding. The correct format would be:

For each item there is a unique doi and funding columns.

                              <item>

                              <doi>xyz_1234</doi>

                              <funding>Scoch Corporation</funding>

                              <funding>There is a pool</funding>

                              <funding>Megacity Inn</funding>

                              <item>pqr_1234</item>

                              <funding>Deliver your best</funding>

                              <funding>World Wide Web</funding>

                              <funding>Macintosh</funding>

                              </item>

                              Thanks,

                              Arghya

Within the sorting-tab there is on the bottom an option to sort to load-order.
