Difference between a Doc CAL and an Enterprise license

Hello All,

Can somebody help explain what is the difference between a DOC Cal and an enterprise license in Qlikview? What are the pros and cons for the same? And what is the significance and the scenarios where each can be used?

Thanks and regards,

Erwin Palani

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for providing the attachment. It was insightful. Correct me if I am wrong, there is nothing called as an Enterprise license, on the other hand, there is the Enterprise Edition Server which doesn't restirct/limit user access to a dashboard via purchasing and assigning of CAL's?

You are almost right. Just a bit of correction : Enterprise Edition Server too requires CAL assignment, it just removes the maximum CAL assignment limit unlike other forms of servers like SBE(maximum of 25 Named User licenses and 100 Document licenses allowed on SBE). Thanks Tresesco. Got it now. However, is there some way that a dashboard can be deployed or made free of access restirctions? As in if the audience is huge and it is not possible to assign/procure those many CAL's. Is there a way around this?
