How to change the bubble layer shape to a symbol

Hello,

I am trying to change the shape of the bubble on a bubble layer in GeoAnalytics and Sense 3.2. If I select Shape & Size for the bubble layer, and Symbols for the shape, it is asking for the expression with the image URL. Can I just drop a JPEG on the Sense server and use something like " http://localhost:4848/... " as the expression? Where would I put the image on the server so that it is available to be used as the symbol? Is there any source for stock symbols in Qlik?

Thanks and regards,

Brent

Hi Brent,

The image needs to be on a web server with public access to the url.

One easy way is to place image on a file share like google drive and get a shareable link.

Thanks,

Patric

Thanks Patric,

We ended up putting it on our intranet server.

Best regards,

Hello, I want to do the same thing, but it does not show me the icon. What I did is create a folder, on the Sense server and there we store the icons, then copy the URL of the url where the icon is stored but does not allow me to see the image I do not know if you did that to him? or how do I have to do so that I can recognize the image? Thank you

Hello Julio,

The URL for the icon must be visible by the GeoAnalytics server, rather than your Sense server.

So, as Patric mentioned above, it must be a publicly visible URL.

The following from Qlik Support:

Problem: Custom image stored in a Library, cannot be used as a symbol in bubble layer Root Cause: Symbols are loaded via the GeoAnalytics server so the URLs must be accessible by it. Symbols in the library are generally not accessible for an external server as the GeoAnalytics server. We will see in a future version if we can support symbols in content library.

Hi Patric,

I tried using the following Google drive URL -

img_droppin.png - Google Drive

and the URL from an image hiosting site accessible over the internet

https://s22.postimg.cc/44raad50h/img_droppin.png

neither of them work as the bubble layer symbol URL.

This URL does work -  http://www.clker.com/cliparts/n/T/j/m/1/z/map-pin-green-md.png

Please can you suggest why that is?

Is it possible to use local path to image symbol when using Local Qlik GeoAnalytics Server?

If Yes, then can You give an example where place the image and exactly path which got to be used in Bubble Layer Shape and Size options?

Hi,

It has to be a direct link, to first 2 urls is not, they are links to web pages.

RIght clicking on the second image seems to give https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/WlVJLNA3ke35IyViOo3DpMPLWDP0nRlCXc4ilJowNj8hTEllxgr_Q8XD_ckRg43H3G...

as a direct link.

Thanks,

Patric

Yes, if the url is visible from the local QGA server.

To check, log on to the QGA server and try url on a web browser.

It has to be a direct link to the image.

And if the image is on the same machine, the server must be unlocked to show local files:

Qlik GeoAnalytics Server settings

Thanks,

Patric
