When you are on network machine and don't want the Qlikview to ask for password to open a dashboard use NT Security the basic one is Qlikview will ask for username/password, you provide them and get access to dashboard. Hope that make sense.

NT Name is like auto verification of the user based in the Network login ...this does not prompt for the password

basic is to set the login based on the USERID or USERID/Password which will prompt for USER to enter the userid and then allow to login

You may like to use NTFS security for two simplet reasons:

  • Single Sign-On: once loggied into Windows on their own machines, users don't need to ever supply their credentials again to get into a QlikView document. Even better, the documents to which they have their access blocked, won't even be shown in the AccessPoint.
  • Passwords: you will never be tasked with changing/updating/creating or "remembering" passwords that the user hasn't gotten yet/wrote on a notepad for all to see/forgot etc. Account credentials are centrally managed by a single authority in AD. No more different passwords all over the place.

Best,

Peter
